It had been suggested by a friendly Nilsean that I try metal detecting across the tracks from the depot building. There is a foundation there left over from what seems to have been an old railroad building.
Here are some pictures of the area and some of the treasure found there.

12" square metal plate with hole in middle and welded angle iron legs. It was found next to southwest corner of foundation burried about 8". Don't know what it was used for. I thought at first it might be the top of a strong box.
No such luck this time. |

Unfortunately we didn't locate the Subaru car that the key belonged to. It looked like it had been on the beach for quite some time. Cindy and I also found $0.40 on the beach in the volleyball courts. She found a quarter and was totally thrilled. Good work cindy.
